Advices For New Moms

There is no shortage of advice available to new moms.

The point is, whose advice to take and whose advice to respectfully disregard?

Truth be told, the honest parenting advice from real moms is one of the best resources out there.

We have asked the smart, understanding mothers and experts in the area of parenting to share their knowledge.

Their comments had us nodding in agreement, laughing out loud and making us looking for a pen and paper to jot down any useful notes.

Live in the now

You are hereby to have permission to stop worrying about your checklist.

Be it doing the laundry, pumping and even buying diapers.

Try to learn to be with your baby.

You should enjoy your precious moment together.

Don’t sweat over a small stuff

When your child falls over for the first time, it is probably that you do not need to visit the emergency room.

Save your worries when only it is necessary.

Don’t frown on every little thing that comes your way, especially with your child!

Rest assured regarding their meals

You can expect an odd eating habit and mom can offer a variety of foods.

Don’t push and don’t panic.

Your baby will eat when they are hungry.

Don’t be afraid to ignore some advice

Some will give you advice when you are about to have a baby or a newborn.

It is extremely valuable to listen to experts and from other perspectives.

It can help you to form your own opinions but you have to make sure what is right and what is wrong.

Nevertheless, let your motherly instinct kick-in and listen to it instead.

Change your bedtime

When your child is sleeping, the same goes for you.

Having little children around is exhausting.

You will need to recharge your batteries as well.

So, sync your bedtime with your child so both of you can have the rest you need.

Stay nourished

It is not the time for you to cut your calories and go on a restrictive diet eating plan.

This is important for a healthy mom and the baby.

Make sure that you are nourishing your body so you are fit to care for your little one.

Mom should pay attention to nutrient-packed foods that are rich in calcium, zinc, magnesium, vitamin B6 and folate.

Let your partner take over

Encourage your partner to be in charge of bathing, reading or feeding time.

They are great bonding activities and an opportunity for mom to take a breather.

Keep pictures as a memory

You won’t regret having too many pictures of your babies.

As your baby grows, you will stumble upon pictures of you and your baby and looking at it will make your day.

Looking back on them as babies will make you reminiscent of your rough day.

These pictures will become your most valuable possessions.

Establishing house chores

Train your kids at home by emptying trash cans, making their bed, and helping set the table and putting the toys away.

Teaching your kid to help out with the household tasks will build self-esteem because you trust them to do the job.

A perfect mother

There is no such thing of being a perfect mother.

Being a mother is one of the hardest titles to hold but rewarding.

You have to trust your instincts and don’t judge yourself through social media.

Don’t push yourself or get discouraged if you fail.

If you fall down, get back up and try something else.
